Box, lacquer. Rectangular box with slightly bowed sides and a seated lid (A), decorated in brown, gold, blue, green, silver and grey. The brown ground of varying density is decorated in hiramakie (low-relief sprinkled design) with a bee with shimmering gold wings and a grey body hovering above a convolvulous plant with blue-green and gold leaves, and silvery grey flowers tinged with gold and a bud. The leaves and stems trail down over the sides of the box. The interior has a plain silvery-gold dull finish with gold rims. The base is in nashiji (shimmering spangles).
