The following nine items and papers represent part of the monarchs gift to a pensioner at the Royal Maundy ceremony at St Nicholas Cathedral, Newcastle upon Tyne, 12 April 1990. They were acquired by Prof. Buttrey from the widow of the recipient, Mr John Hall of 34 Elm Grove, Fawdon, Newcastle-upon-Tyne:
White leather purse, with red leather strings, to contain the Maundy money (6853-6).
