Production date: AD 1859 : The drawing was probably begun in January 1859 and finished by the following Christmas, and John Christian has detected the influences of Burne-Jones' first visit to Italy in autumn of that year, particularly in the narrative style and composition similar to early Italian frescoes. (This is substantially the work of John Christian).
