Both (see No. 2015.1) for the 'Passing of Venus', this was originally a design for tiles (1861), but was later used in the background of Laus Veneris (1875), and for two oils; one, with which these studies can be associated, is at Exeter College, Oxford (1876/7), and there is another unfinished version in the Tate Gallery.
