Description

Coverboards covered with white linen. Off-white paper. Collocation: each leaf is separately taped to the binding. Tape on leaf 15 is almost totally severed. There are 39 ff. Leaves 1 (originally attached to blue inside binding tape) 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 21, 23, 28, 32 are missing.

The numeration of the leaves in the Burne-Jones manuscript list is in odd order, but the numbers are not all consecutive; therefore it is difficult to know which of the missing leaves in the sketch book correspond to the missing sketches which according to the manuscript list are as follows: Head for Sea nymph in 2.
