Method of acquisition: Bequeathed (1816) by Fitzwilliam, Richard, 7th Viscount
Production date: circa AD 1725 : cf. dating of Dresden painting, 'Tanzbelustigung im Schlosspark', Gal.-Nr. 784, which features the same flautist figure. Cochin elder engraving after the painting thought to date, c.1730-50.
With no. 330, its pendant, formerly ascribed to Antoine Watteau.
