Description

Thistle shaped bowl with the lower part cut into six knopped stems. The foot cut into six deeply indented lobes. The clear glass is stained,overlaid with red, cut, and engraved. On the front of the bowl is engraved a scene of deer in a landscape on a copper red panel, at the back is a cut pattern of leaves and an oval picked out in copper red stain. The lid is cut with a notched edge and has a six sided, pointed finials. The decoration on the lower part of the bowl, foot and lid consists of a painted copper-red pattern with engraved details of vine grapes.
