Coverboards covered in grey grained paper over board. The first folio is a heavy cream coloured paper, bound with grey paper. The remainder are cream coloured, perforated tracing paper. Collocation: four gatherings containing the following number of folios: twenty five (three torn out); twenty four (thee torn out); twenty four (six torn out); twenty two (seven torn out). Pre-production page from 'The Coral Island' pasted onto inside front cover, frontispiece for 'A Sentimental Journey through France and Italy' likewise Page 1 recto, both by Penguin books.

Studies of coach, also of man and women in early Georgian costume (frockcoats, wigs, tricorns, hooped dresses with decorated petticoats). Figure studies of contemporaries, also 'cartoon'style figure. Extensive art-related notes on inside covers and adjacent pages.
