Coverboards covered in dark red ground effect paper over board. Cream coloured paper. Collocation: four gatherings containing the following number of folios: twenty three (twenty two torn out); twenty five (fourteen torn out); twenty three (seventeen torn out); twenty six (one attached to back cover and sixteen torn out). A piece of cream coloured paper (11 x 5.8 cm) has been slipped between the front cover and f.1.

Sketchbook contains notes relating to long distance travel, a study of Trinity Library and several of buildings and rustic scenes, also preliminary ideas and sketches for the following engravings: 'August' [195], 1930. 'April' [191], 1930. 'September' [196], 1930.
