Description

Oval panel. Stained and painted glass encased in clear glass on both sides. Colours: black, brown, pink, red and blue with silver-yellow stain. A lady in 17th century costume is seated in a high-backed chair. She holds a musical instrument with five strings, probably a lute.

History note: From the Countess of Craven's collection; H.S. Reitlinger (d.1950); the Reitlinger Trust, Maidenhead, from which transferred in 1991.
