Potter: Rie, Lucie
Porcelain, thrown, with white lime glaze stopping short of the base, and brown inlay. Approximately ovoid body with a tall neck, which expands slightly towards the unevenly shaped mouth. On the shoulders there is a broad fuzzy band of brown inlay flanked by narrow bands of inlay, and there is an irregular band of inlay below the rim. The base has a brown circle round the mark and another round the edge.
History note: Purchased by the donor from the Arts Council Lucie Rie exhibition held at 4 St James's Square, London in 1967
