Description

White frit body coated with white slip (?) and painted in blue turquoise, green, red and black enamels under an extremely bubbly clear glaze. Circular with shallow curved sides and flat centre, standing on a narrow footring pierced by two suspension holes at the top, between which there is a blob of red. The front is decorated with a circular panel and a narrow border. The panel has a small bulbous pot of flowers at the top amid sprays of fritillaries, carnations, other flowers and foliage springing from a central point at bottom centre. The border round the outer edge comprises alternating flower heads and buds reserved in a turquoise ground, with two narrow concentric black bands on the inner edge and one band on the outer edge.
