Description

Bone china coffee cup and saucer, aerographed in black, with sgraffito spirals and small circles, and painted in grey enamel.

Bone china coffee cup and saucer, aerographed in black, decorated with sgraffito spirals and small circles, and painted in grey enamel. Can shape. Cylindrical cup with rounded loop handle. Circular saucer with shallow curved sides, and a circular depression inside the low footring. The cup is decorated on the exterior, and has a white base, handle and a white interior painted with a grey band below the rim. The saucer has a white circle in the centre, a wide band of decoration, and a white rim and back.

History note: Given to the donor's mother as a retirement gift in 1966.

Note

The cup and saucer came from a boxed set of six coffee cans and saucers each of different colour, of which two were donated.
