Description

Hard paste porcelain painted overglaze in red and pale red and gold. Circular with steeply rising rounded sides with a rather high straight foot and flat glazed base. The inside is decorated with a dove, puffed up and perched on a floral motif within a gold circle, and on the sides with three floral sprays. The rim has the remnants of a gold band. The outside is painted with two symmetrical leafy designs with a cockerel and a hen strutting together on either side. The foot is gilt.
