Relief of the Virgin and Child in painted and gilded stucco
Relief of the Virgin and Child, painted and gilded stucco. The half-length Virgin is shown in three-quarter view, in the act of praying over the Christ Child. The Virgin has long, curly hair which flows behind her right shoulder. She is finely painted, and special care has been given to the decoration of her scarlet robe, veil and halo. The Christ Child, seen in profile, is sitting in front of his mother. He is dressed in a robe, holds the Virgin's left arm with his left hand, and clasps part of the Virgin’s veil with his right hand. The Christ Child's halo is also finely decorated.
