Description

Contains 236 drawings by Heckel. The sheets are tipped in on the blue leaves of the album which is bound in brown leather and tooled. Marbled end papers and fly leaf of cream chain paper. Watermark - Churchill 434. (Strasburgh bend and lily). Inner fly leaf carries brown ink MS list of contents.

They are contained in a / large Portfolio with leaves. _ / These Drawings chiefly consist of Plants. Flowers / Birds, and a few Landscapes and other subjects all / taken from Nature in the greatest observation / imaginable, the Colouring as fine as when first / drawn, and Said to have been valued by the late / Mr Longford at £200 and to have been the employment of a great part of Mr Heckel's life.
