Portrait medallions of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette
Relief, red wax. Two oval portrait medallions with guilloche borders entwined with ribbons, with between them at the top, the royal arms of France surmounted by a crown flanked by flowers, and supported by the ends of two scrolled ribbons which descend between the medallions to a small inverted pyramidal pedestal. The medallion on the left bears a bust of Louis XVI in profile to right, and the medallion on the right, a bust of Marie Antoinette in profile to left. The relief is attached to a recessed pink, grey, and cream marble frame with a beaded metal border, set in a dark green velvet covered wooden frame.
