Empress Eugenie, wearing a long riding habit and large hat with feathers, sitting side saddle on her horse, her right arm not visible, her left hand in her lap. The base displays the word 'EMPRESS', moulded and picked out in gilt. The underside is concave and glazed. The back is flat and undecorated, with a vent hole towards the base.
History note: The collection of Sir Donald Sinden (1923–2014); sold by the Sinden estate at Cheffins, 13 September 2017 (lot 3). Purchased by the donor, Prof. Norman Hammond.
