Comprises two versions of the Speculum humanæ salvationis, the Latin metrical version attributed to Ludolphus de Saxonia (here printed as prose) and a German translation possibly by Johannes, a monk of the monastery of SS. Ulrich and Afra, with the Speculum Sanctæ Mariæ Virginis by Andreas Italus (the three works printed together, chapter by chapter); and at the end the Summula humanæ salvationis, a metrical summary of the Speculum humanæ salvationis by the monk Johannes.
Binding: brown morocco (modern), with g.t. arms & 'Musgrave de Edenhall' in centre of boards, g.t.; spine & board edges g.t., border g.t. on inside covers, raised bands, g. lettering on brown spine labels; marbled e.p.; a.e.g.
History note: Provenance: Frank McClean (bkpl.). Ms. inscr. on front e.p.: 'G. Musgrave. 1842'. 'Quaritch 9/12/[19]01' on front free e.p. With two cuttings from sales cat.
