Circular portrait medallion of a half-length figure in relief. The figure is set obliquely to the picture plane and the face is seen in a three-quarter view turned to the left. Both arms are depicted in high relief and in the right hand she holds a flower. Her collar is furlined and her head-dress is in the elaborate court style, both of which bear traces of gilding. To the left of her head is scratched '1430' in a rude style and is also gilded.
History note: Hollingworth Magniac; sold Christie, Manson & Woods, 2 July, 4 July and following days, Catalogue of the Renowned Collection of Works of Art, chiefly formed by the late Hollingoworth Magniac, Esq., (Known as the Colworth Collection), p. 86, lot 264, a pair of of circular medallions. Sold to McClean for £3.3.0.
