Mid-twentieth-century wood and glass cabinet with a padded interior and glass shelves. Made by Makepeace as a display cabinet for the then newly-built Twentieth Century Gallery of the Fitzwilliam Museum.
History note: Object information from Andrew Maloney, 2023-12-21, who received it from Nik Zolman, former Chief Technician AA: The cabinet was custom-made by Makepeace (presumed to be John Makepeace) as a display case for use in FM's then newly created Twentieth Century gallery. It was regularly used to display objects in that gallery into at least the early 2000s. The wood is rosewood. Accession number unknown: no listing for the object found on Axiell. Possibly not accessioned? (but should be) Jo Dillon 2023-12-21
