An ivory plaque
Christ seated on a throne, blessing and holding an open book, is surrounded by an oval laurel wreath and a raised band of ornament. In the spandrels are the symbols of the Evangelists, except top left corner where St Matthew himself is seen writing in a book on a desk. The ground is gilt, probably modern.
