Right wing of a diptych, ivory carved in relief. The subjects are in two zones under architectural canopies.
Above: Crucifixion between Virgin and St John - two women support the Virgin and two Jews stand behind St John.
Below: The Murder of Becket, by three knights, opposed by a cross-bearer.


History note: Hollingworth Magniac, Colworth, Bedfordshire; sold Christie, Manson & Woods, Catalogue of the renowned collection of works of art, chiefly formed by the late Hollingworth Magniac, Esq., (Known as the Colworth Collection), p. 82, lot . 256; sold for £32.11.0. to McClean.
