Crucifix of wood with ivory figure of Christ and ivory plaque above. Bearded Christ with elongated limbs and fluttering loin-cloth that leaves the left thigh bare. The head is thrown back, the lips parted and the eyes raised upwards. On the plaque in black is inscribed 'J.N.R.J.'

13.03.1980. Dr. Christian Theuerkauff of Berlin saw this crucifix and considered it to be 19th century, probably the second half of the century.
R.F. Bedford and Miss Longhurst both regarded it as a very fine German work of the early 18th century and not Italian. Miss Longhurst referred to examples in the National Museum, Munich, described as German by Dr. Berliner.
