From a group of nine proofs for the cover of the 100th number of the journal 'Encounter', January 1962, in different colourways and fonts. Image in purple against pink background, incoporating the 'wash' effect border (grey), and with no colour for the title, signature, date and price (shows white of the sheet). Printed lettering for the spine, left-side, also appear white. Colours used for the journal.
History note: Via Peterhouse College from the estate of Professor Edward Shils, who was a fellow of Peterhouse and an editor of Encounter in this period
