Description

Soft-paste porcelain mug, painted with Chinese scenes in onglaze polychrome enamels.

Soft-paste porcelain mug, thrown, painted in onglaze yellow, pink, green, blue, grey and brown enamels. The waisted cylindrical mug has a wide spreading base, slightly flared rim, and a grooved strap handle with kick terminal. It is painted in famille-rose style with a Chinese lady seated at a table, a further standing figure flanked by a garden seat to one side, and a tall table in the background.
