Description

Soft-paste porcelain coffee cup, decorated onglaze with Chinese figures in polychrome enamels and gilt.

Soft-paste porcelain coffee cup, decorated onglaze in polychrome enamels and gilt. The cup is circular with tall, rounded sides and grooved loop handle, standing on a shallow footring. Painted in famille-rose style with a continuous scene of two Chinese ladies and two boys; a panel of gilt scrollwork reserved with a vignette of puce flowers, and three small black sprigs surrounds the handle; red line borders, the rim banded in gilt.
