Description

Soft-paste porcelain jug, decorated underglaze in blue and onglaze with flower decoration in polychrome enamels and gilding.

Soft-paste porcelain jug, decorated underglaze in blue and onglaze red, blue and green enamels and gilding. Pear-shaped with sparrow beak spout and rounded loop handle, standing on a footrim. Decorated with a Japan pattern: four vertical panels of chrysanthemums, and other flowering plants, are divided by four gilt-edged underglaze blue panels with reserved circular floral medallions in gilt frames with gilt foliage above and below; lower border of floral meander reserved in a blue band; gilt band round rim; red dots and flowers down back of handle.
