Description

Soft-paste porcelain plate, decorated with the 'Queen Charlotte Whorl' pattern; in underglaze blue, onglaze in puce and iron-red enamels and gilding.

Soft-paste porcelain plate, decorated in underglaze blue, onglaze puce and iron-red enamels and gilding. Circular with shallow well and narrow lobed rim, standing on a footrim. Decorated with the 'Queen Charlotte Whorl' pattern; a central puce flowerhead within a blue circle, surrounded by radiating, alternately blue and white spiral panels decorated with flowers and scrolls; narrow iron-red border of scrolls and flower heads with a gilt band round the edge.
