Description

Soft-paste porcelain teapot and cover, painted in polychrome enamels with floral sprays, and gilt

Soft-paste porcelain teapot and cover, painted onglaze in iron-red, yellow, green, blue, purple and pink enamel, and gilt. The teapot is of globular shape, with curved spout and ribbed loop handle; the domed cover with flower and leaf finial. Each side is painted with a large floral spray, surrounded by four small sprigs; the handle and spout have stylised pink leaf and dot motifs; the cover has three flower sprigs, and the flower finial is coloured green and puce with green leaves. The rims of the spout, footring, shoudlers and lid are banded in gold..
