Description

Soft-paste porcelain mug, transfer-printed with military motifs onglaze in black.

Soft-paste porcelain mug, transfer-printed onglaze in black. Baluster-shaped, standing on a footring; reeded loop handle. On one side, 'The King of Prussia, Frederick the Great'. Above, to the left is a putto holding out a laurel wreath. Below, under scrollwork, the date '1757'. On the front is a military trophy with three flags inscribed 'Reisburg Prague Collin'; 'Welham Rossbach Breslan'; and Neumark Lissa Breslan'. Signed below with an anchor, 'RH' in monogram and 'Worcester'. On the other side Fame blowing two trumpets.
