Soft-paste porcelain teapot and cover, painted underglaze in blue, onglaze with flowers in red, green and blue enamels, and gilt.

Soft-paste porcelain teapot and cover, painted underglaze in blue, onglaze in red, green and blue enamels, and gilt. The globular teapot has sides moulded with sixteen concave flutes, fluted curved spout and double entwined loop handle with foliate terminal. The domed cover is surmounted by a flower and leaf knob. The teapot is painted with four upright panels of flowering prunus and chrysanthemum in Imari style, separated by four gros-bleu panels, each reserved with an iron-red mons and gilt with leaf sprays, a band of floral meander in underglaze blue round the foot.
