Soft-paste porcelain tea bowl and saucer, painted underglaze in blue, and onglaze in iron-red and turquoise enamels, and gilt. The circular tea bowl has rounded sides, and stands on a low footring, the shallow saucer is of similar shape. The sides of the tea bowl are painted in Imari style with four vertical gros-bleu panels reserved with a red-mons on a floral or diaper ground, alternating with four panels with a gros-bleu mons, on a ground painted with a flowering tree or trellis diaper, the interior with a central medallion enclosing an oriental flower spray, the saucer is decorated en suite.
