Soft-paste porcelain bowl, painted underglaze in blue with a Chinese scene and flowers.
Soft-paste porcelain bowl, painted underglaze in blue. The shallow circular bowl has rounded sides, and is supported on a low footring. It is painted with a pagoda in a fenced garden, a river landscape and a man in a sampan. On the interior is a central flower spray, the rim with a loop and arrowhead border.
History note: Part of Lot 129, Sotheby's, May 20th, 1926; bought on Dr Glaisher's behalf by Mr Hunt, with nos. 4899 and 4900, for 4 gns.
