Soft-paste porcelain butter tub and cover, transfer-printed and painted underglaze in blue with Chinese scenes.
Soft-paste porcelain, transfer-printed and painted underglaze in blue. The cylindrical tub has two projecting shell handles, and stands on a low flattened footring. The domed cover (A) is surmounted by a flower knob. Both pieces are transfer-printed with a figure standing on a bridge in a Chinese river landscape, the rims with double line borders. The knob and handle are highlighted in blue.
