Factory: Spode
Bone china transfer-printed in brown enamel with a view of Brighton, and gilt.
Bone china, moulded, transfer-printed in brown and gilt. Cylindrical with a recessed base and loop handle with a slightly projecting thumbrest. Decorated on the exterior with a view of the promenade and chain pier at Brighton, and on the interior, with a border of shells and lilies. There are gilt bands round the exterior and interior of the rim, and on the back of the handle, a stylised longitudinal leaf, a curved line and graduated horizontal lines and dots.
