Text: The hand in its most natural & common position / that is when it hangs down & is out of action has the first finger a little bent, the next a little more & so / on least being most bent of all - the reason is this / the tendons of the perforatus & perforans which go to / little finger & the two next are proportionably shorter / & more bent than that of the first finger as / they pass under the palmares Longus / for this reason also when the fingers are / straight the hand is in a forced position
