Description

Porcelain teacup, coffee and saucer, bat-printed and decorated with 'The Four Seasons' in polychrome enamels, and gilt.

Porcelain teacup, coffee and saucer, decorated with bat-printing in grey onglaze, red, yellow, green and lilac enamels, and gilt. Circular tea cup with rounded sides and strap handle surmounted by a small spur; cylindrical coffee can; and saucer with deep rounded sides, on undercut footring. The saucer is bat-printed in grey with four octagonal panels representing 'The Four Seasons', picked out in coloured enamels and reserved within gilt-edged borders which are separated by gilt half flowerheads; the centre has a gilt foliate sprig. The tea cup is decorated with three panels en suite; and the coffee can with two panels en suite.
