Soft-paste porcelain containing bone ash, figure of a Dancing Boy, press-moulded, with hand-modelled details, and painted overglaze in pale blue, green, yellow, pink, flesh-pink, orange-red, purple, pale brown, and black enamels, and gilt. The glazed concave underside has a circular ventilation hole under the tree. The square base has four scroll feet with a pierced rocaille motif between the front two. It rises up at the back into a tree stump with short lateral branches bearing applied leaves and flowers. The boy stands in front of the stump with his left foot advanced, right hand raised and the left hand held out in front. He has long brown hair and wears a broad-brimmed yellow hat with a green underside and gold edge, and a brown feather attached to the turned back brim at the front. He has a white shirt, an orange-red waistcoat with gold buttons, a pink coat with a blue lining, gold edges and buttons, green dotted breeches with a red, purple, and gold formal floral pattern, and black shoes with a blue flower on top of each. The scrolls on the base are picked out in gold.
