• Text: And then came a brilliant star-like / figure, looking very happy, with a dress / that sometimes looked quite pink and sometimes quite blue. He was one of a large family, but was evidently glad that / he did not inhabit the Celestial Empire / for he said / I am White Alpine Star, / And love these rocks and rivers, / But most of my relations are, / Elsewhere, and tall and lanky / Especially the Yankee, / I'm glad I'm not a China Aster, / For it would be a great disaster / Were I to break in shivers, / And a companion white star followed, but this one seemed sad or ill, and had black / lines under his eyes. Indeed he could / only speak of the troubles of his friends.
