Designer: Allchin, J.H.
Double leaf of beige silk backed with white stiffened silk, the front printed in brown, and edged with goose (?) down; sticks and guards of ivory (14 + 2); gilt-metal carrying loop. The front is decorated overall with two wrens perching on the stems of a flowering plant with long pods. To left of centre there is a butterfly or moth, and on the extreme left, a spider's web. The engraver's signature is on the extreme lower right side of the leaf. The fan is in a rectangular cardboard fan box (A), with off-white watered silk effect on the exterior.

The description on one end of the fan box does not correspond to the description of the fan, which suggests that it was probably not the original box.
