Previously attributed to Philips de Koninck [1619-1688]; a painting with these figures in it, signed by Pieter de Neyn [1597-1639] and dated 1638 was sold at Christie's, London, 13 December 1991, lot 191; another painting with the same figures was in New York, as Pieter de Neyn, but was attributed by Dr Ulrich Beck to de Vlieger
