Description

Maiolica two-handled pharmacy or storage jar, painted in relief dark-blue and manganese with 'oak leaves'.

Pale buff earthenware, tin-glazed on the exterior except an area at one side of the lower part of the jar; interior tin-glazed pinkish-white; base unglazed. Painted in relief dark-blue with manganese outlines.
Ovoid with flat base, short cylindrical neck, and two elbowed strap handles.
Springing from below the handles and from the middle of each side, there are four sprays of oak leaves with dots and short lines in the background. Pairs of horizontal manganese bands encircle the lower part of the body and neck.
