Description

Maiolica fluted dish, painted in yellow and orange, and outlined in purple with a bird among stylised flowers and foliage.

Pinkish-buff earthenware (very little visible), tin-glazed pale green on both sides. Painted in yellow and orange, and outlined in manganese-purple.
Circular with a scalloped rim of twenty-four arcs, and curved sides moulded with reversed gadroons radiating from the convex centre.
In the middle there is a bird in profile to the right among stylised flowers and foliage, enclosed by three concentric circles and eight regularly spaced leaves. Below the rim, between pairs of manganese lines, there are four sprays comprising a flower head flanked by paired leaves on stems, separated by small formal plants.
