Description

Sketchbook with marbled cover boards (inside and out) and leather spine. Front cover has metal clasp. 34 leaves, 4 of which have been cut down. Wove paper, some sheets watermarked: E & P; folio 3 bears the watermarked date: 1796. Most of the graphite drawings have been fixed. The sketchbook has been turned frequently for use by the artist, so that compositions are inverted from one folio to the next.
