Stone bowl
Calcite bowl, inscribed with an inverted 'ka' sign (a Ka sign is in the form of two raised hands) and a scorpion. Scorpions appear elsewhere as objects from the Main Temple Deposit. A ka sign is typically associated with the Ka spirit, which best compared to the concept of the soul of a person. There is a fragment missing. This type of inscribed bowl was possibly associated with a festival. The centre is simply chiselled out and the walls are relatively thin. This type of stone 'calcite' is sometimes called alabaster.
