Glazed figure in the form of a pig or boar; the snout is damaged and missing. The object is made out of faience which is a glazed crushed quartz that is moulded into shape. The surface is unevenly covered, which is possibly due to the firing process. Pigs were eaten in ancient Egypt but priests were forbidden from eating this particular animal, presumably because they were seen to be unclean.
