Description

Standing wooden figure, left leg extended forwards. Both arms present, one down by side and the other held up towards his chest. There appears to be a dowel hole in the side of his hand. It is possible that this figure was on a boat, and was situated next to the mast, operating the halyard/downhaul ropes. Similarly posed figures (with holes on the hand where string runs through) can be seen on a boat model in the North Carolina Museum of Art (82.12)
