Description

Faience scarab inscribed, with hieroglyphic signs on the base. At the top is an image of a hawk representing Horus and below are two leopard heads reading 'strength'. The scarab is pierced through the centre. It is mouldmade.

This large scarab is naturally designed and nearly without damages except two tiny ones on each side of the base. A single rolling line forms the partition of elytra and protorax, as well as a single line divides the elytra and forms the suture. The humeral callosities are shown the left one is abraded. The head is trapezoidal, eyes are clearly indicated. The clypeus is large and well defined with four lobes. The legs are modeled in high relief, plain, highly arched and meet shortly before the junction of elytra and protorax. The scarab is sitting on a base (0.002m).
