Description

Steatite scarab inscribed on the base with a winged scarab and double plume motif; the scarab is flanked by two hawks or vultures, offering protection. This type of scarab was contemporary with Tuthmosis III, in the 18th dynasty. The scarab is pierced vertically through the centre.

The reverse is without damages except a tiny one on the head. A single rolling line forms the partition of elytra and protorax, as well as a single line divides the elytra and forms the suture. The humeral callosities are shown but nearly invisible. The head is trapezoidal, eyes are indicated. The clypeus is large and well defined with four lobes. The legs are indicated by an arched line and meet at the junction of the elytra and protorax. The front legs are undefined. The scarab is sitting on a base (0.002m).
